A lot of clubs in Rome (and Italy in general) are on the outskirts of the city. For Rome, I recommend Zanussi on Thursday nights. It is in the south but very close to Rei De Roma metro station. You will need to get a taxi back as the metro shuts at midnight.. There are a number of cheap hostels near Zanussi though. I also went to Palacavicchi which is an awesome, huge club. Must have been 10,000 salsa dancers. They had about three or four large dancehalls. You need a car as it is
